Silenced voices is dedicated to discovery, promotion, performance, and recording of music by neglected and/or oppressed Soviet composers. Through the series of concerts and lecture-recitals Silenced Voices raises the awareness of less-known musical compositions from the Soviet era. Silenced Voices expands the repertoire of vocalists and instrumentalists by uncovering the hidden jewels of musical craft. Revealing these works through the highest-level performances Silenced Voices fills in the gap in artistic communication between USSR and the West. In addition, Silenced Voices contributes to people’s comprehension of the influence of social and political conditions to the artistic environment, and the creative output of a composer.
